Why your Meta testing matrix is lying to you
The classic mistake: launch 12 ad sets testing audience and creative and offer simultaneously, then celebrate whichever wins. The problem is you've learned nothing reusable — the winning ad only works inside that audience with that offer.
Structured testing means changing one variable class at a time in a deliberate order: offer first (it changes everything downstream), then angle, then hook, then format. Audiences last — broad does the heavy lifting while creative does the persuading.
Keep a learning log. Every test gets a hypothesis, a kill criterion and a scheduled decision date. Tests without scheduled decisions aren't tests; they're habits with a budget.
The agencies that compound learning are the ones that treat every test as an entry in a library, not a slot-machine pull.
